Presentation at Tokyo Motorshow
The new Japanese law on speed limits for trucks has resulted in major
orders for the Dutch company Groeneveld Transport Efficiency. Via it’s
Japanese trade partner, Sanwa Sciki, Groeneveld will supply 73,000 speed
limiters to truck manufacturers and dealerships.
Groeneveld is one of the major producers of Speed Limiters world-wide.
In the Japanese market, Groeneveld has been represented by Sanwa Seiki
since 1994, which already resulted in deliveries to manufacturers including
Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Hino, also for their exports to Australia. As a
result of the new legislation, Groeneveld expects that not only new trucks
need to be equipped with limiters, but that they need to be fitted in
over 128,000 previously sold vehicles as well.
At the Tokyo Motorshow held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba from 29th October
to 3rd November 2002, Groeneveld presented it’s speed limiters at
the Sanwa Seiki stand. In collaboration with Sanwa Seiki, Groeneveld also
presented three other products that have proved internationally that they
contribute to the safety and efficiency of transport vehicles.
The Greensight rear obstacle detection system - a highly reliable system
that detects obstacles behind the vehicle with the use of ultrasonic technology
- was introduced to Japanese entrepreneurs. Greensight is the only system
that meets the strict requirements of the German market. Immediate cost
reduction can be achieved with Oilmaster. Oilmaster monitors the oil in
the crankcase of petrol or diesel engines and automatically keeps it at
the right level. The system prevents engine damage and supports longer
maintenance intervals of modern vehicles. From Groeneveld’s wide
range of automatic grease lubrication systems, the innovative CompAlube
was shown. This extremely compact grease lubrication system is also cost
effective in vehicles with only a low number of lubrication points.
The success formula that Groeneveld brought across at the Tokyo Motorshow
is clear: Investing in safety and efficiency will not only increase profits
for transport businesses, but it will also improve the corporate image
