Truck crash victim named

The three-year-old child killed in an accident involving an ESB truck in Co. Limerick has been named as Casey Singhland, from Newcastlewest. The deceased was playing on her tricycle just a few yards from her home in Hawthorn Drive at 4.15pm yesterday 2nd October when she was knocked down by an ESB truck.

The truck was working on public lighting in the area at the time of the fatal accident. A spokesperson for the ESB sympathised with the family on their tragic loss.

The deceased is survived by her parents, Tony Sighland and Marion Reidy. The couple have three other children.
