People urged to express concerns over proposed mast

Councillor Pat O’Rawe has asked people to come to her with their concerns after it was revealed that mobile phone company Orange intend to build a mobile phone transmitter.

The company want to provide a better service for it’s operators in the area, which include haulage companies and other businesses.
The mast is to be built at the junction of the Fernaloy and Monaghan Roads, but Councillor O’Rawe feels that many people will feel concerned by the proposed erection.

“The erection of these telephone masts have caused controversy in the past. It is to be welcomed that Orange are now embarking on a consultation period prior to planning permission being applied for.

“Anyone with concerns about this proposal will have an opportunity to have those concerns addressed. There is a time limit on this consultation period so I would urge anyone who wishes to contact me to do so as soon as possible.
“I will be forwarding the letter from Orange to residents in the immediate locality,” said Councillor O’Rawe.
