Driver academy could save lives - Quinn

A former president of the GAA is spearheading a cross-border road safety initiative aimed at dramatically reducing road deaths along the border.

Peter Quinn, brother of Sean Quinn of Quinn Direct Insurance is hoping to establish a drivers' academy. The academy will be located on the Cavan / Fermanagh border and will cater for drivers from all over the country.

Initial meetings have already taken place with police officers from both sides of the border as well as the Department of Environment officials from both jurisdictions.
