Brennan is criticised by IRHA on high-ban
Transport Minister Seamus Brennan's proposed ban on high-cube trailers
on road safety grounds has been criticised by the Irish Road Haulage Association.
IRHA communications director Jimmy Quinn told www.irishtrucker.com there
isn't a single shred of evidence to suggest high-cube trailers pose a
road safety risk. Quinn blasted: "We put it to the Minister that this
was nonsense.
We told him it didn't do his department any credit to be coming out with
this type of sensationalist rubbish. We told him these trailers were being
operated by leading-edge hauliers both here and the UK on a routine basis
without any problems."
