These past 18 months or so have seen a real turn around in the motor sales industry and Menapia Motors is a company which knows it as well as most.

Business has been thriving as of late and Daniel Hyland, a sales executive who specialises in commercial sales, has seen it first hand over the year since joining the close-knit team at Menapia Motors.

Indeed Renault is a brand known for its long-lasting ability and wide range in cars to suit all fuel efficiency and great value for money, as well as optimal safety, and since becoming its main dealers in Co Wexford, it seems Menapia Motors are intent on mirroring that long-lasting image.

“We’re based on the Rosslare Road in Kerlogue Business Park in Co Wexford,”he outlined.

“The business was set-up in 2010 and there are 16 staff here, including four a strong sales team of four which are Manager Paul White, Senior Sales man Mick Cullen, Sales Executive John Kenny and myself in Commercial Sales. Diarmuid Boland is the Dealer Principal.

“We are a commercial and private motor sales business and we’re the main dealers for Renault in Wexford. We also carry out servicing and repairs on all vehicles and have a parts department as well.

Business right now is reflecting that, according to Daniel, as more and more cars keep passing through to doors of their large showroom at Kerlogue Business Park thanks to a high customer demand for their premium quality product.

What other way would you have it?

“Since last year things have been going very well and we’ve been busy extremely, especially because of our fantastic finance rates in both commercial and private cars,”Daniel explained.

“Van sales in particular have been really good lately and we can cater to every kind of customer, whether it be commercial vans, new cars, used cars or electric vehicles. We’re also nationwide with our service here, I’ve sold vans and cars north and south of the country and because of our five-year warranty and our AA roadside assistance you can have full cover nationwide.

Along with the excellent warranties they have on offer, Menapia Motors feel that their prices are right up there with the rest of their competitors. In fact, Daniel feels that they are second to none when it comes to offering the buyer value for his or her money.

“Extremely competitive”were the exact words he used when asked why he thinks their customers choose them first.

“We feel that we are extremely competitive with our prices here and I think that’s part of the reason why customers choose us first,”said the Sales Executive. 

“We have a very good reputation for our after sales services here and we’ve an extremely good team. The fact that we’re nationwide because of Renault is a huge plus to our customers, along with the great warranties we’ve on offer.”

Since the economic recession kicked in for so many Irish businesses just shy of a decade ago, the recovery has been a long road back and Menapia Motors certainly felt the effects having set-up shop right in the middle of the downturn in 2010.

It took a couple of years to weather the storm, with so many consumers either unwilling or unable to purchase new, but Daniel feels that the upturn is now in full effect and hopes that things continue to blossom business-wise.

“There has been a massive turnaround in the last year or so and with Renault’s own bank, and their competitive finance rates, it’s really a no-brainer for a lot of our customers,”he said.

“Renault is such a solid brand that it carried through (the recession) and the new five-year warranty, plus the AA roadside assistance attached for the duration of the warranty, that we have on up to 200,000 kilometres is really a great deal. People are getting more and more comfortable again with borrowing, so things have definitely improved.”
