On Wednesday 6th June, MAN Truck and Bus Ireland took a party of 20, including customers and staff, over to Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, England where MAN were hosting a Ride and Drive event.

With 59 MAN vehicles on‐site in total, including: 13 TGX tractor units, 8 TGS 32 tonne tippers, 2 Tourliner coaches and 18 TGE vans, there really was something for everybody. And if that wasn’t enough, visitors were given the opportunity to drive whichever vehicle they pleased at Millbrook, regardless of professional driving licence qualifications, which was a real treat for many.

Ilie Petrasuc from Patrick Foley Ltd, shares his experiences, “I particularly enjoyed driving the TGX 640 and the Concrete Mixer, and I was impressed with the vans self‐parking feature too. Overall, I had a really good time and I was happy to take part in the MAN Ride and Drive.”

The MAN Ride and Drive event was packed with thrills and activities. Whether it was zipping round the High‐Speed Circuit in a Tourliner, testing a 26‐tonne rigid on the challenging Hill Route, or using the innovative Park Assist feature of the TGE van without touching the steering wheel, to park between two parked vans, it was an action‐packed week.

Michaels Hynes, Managing Director of MAN Truck and Bus Ireland, comments, “The MAN Ride & Drive at Millbrook is a terrific event to bring drivers to. It gives them the chance to experience MAN products the best way possible by testing the entire line on all road conditions.”

MAN Truck and Bus Ireland would like to thank all the customers that attended last month and hopes to see more of them at a similar event in the future.
