P.T.L. are a successful transport and warehousing company that have grown from a man who has a background in printing and bookbinding. MD John Boyle started the business with a van, which he used to deliver his goods from his previous business; J&N Boyle. Together with his former friend and partner Ken Kerrigan, they built a transport service that supplied groupage services nationwide. The same attention and effort they gave to customers then, is still evident in the company today. The personal attention that is apparent in P.T.L. is both unique and admirable.

Eight years ago there was a change within the company, in particular the services that they provided changed from being groupage orientated to more DIRECT deliveries nationwide. At this time P.T.L. also spread their wings by initiating a warehousing service. It is quite a story that the company now has three warehouses: Finglas (10,000 sq ft), Ashbourne (17,000 sq ft) and Cabra (10,000 sq ft). Not only that! Rumour has it that the company are also proposing a new location on the northside of Dublin. The company also possesses 3 tractor units with 40ft and 20ft trailers, 8 rigid trucks and 4 vans.

The company have also been making technological improvements. They have installed tracking systems in their vehicles. A warehousing software package has been developed with Beta Bar Code Systems. “Web enabled P.O.D. tracing is also on the cards,” quotes John Boyle Jnr. The vibrance within the company and the desire to reach the most professional standard is amazing. John Boyle MD modestly suggests with recent developments within the company it is not unlikely that the size of the P.T.L. operation may double within the next 18 months.
