Thermo King’s new enhanced SL Range - offering more for less

In keeping with its commitment to making its customers as competitive as possible by lowering whole-life costs, Thermo King is enhancing the SL range for trailers. From February 2002, customers will notice the new names: SL-100e, SL-200e and SL-400e.

All new SL enhanced models will feature Thermo King’s new Poly-V belt drive system, and high efficiency condenser and evaporator blowers. As well as enhanced performance, the new SL enhanced range offers more efficient, economic and environmentally friendly operation than its predecesors.
The new Poly - V belt drive system uses two fewer belts and doubles belt life, thereby reducing belt maintenance cost - and the associated expensive down time - by ober 50%. In addition, new auto-tensioners eliminate the need for periodic adjustments.

To further reduce maintenance costs, the SL enhanced range will come as standard with Thermo King’s EMI (Extended Maintenance Interval) 3000 package, which, using a new filtration system, lubricant and coolant, doubles maintenance intervals to 3000 hours - twice that of the competition, according to Thermo King.

Fuel economy is also enhanced in the new SL enhanced range. The Poly-V belt drive system is more efficient than previous systems, thus reducing power loss and increasing fuel efficiency. The highly efficient evaporator and condenser blowers offer improved temperature pull-down and recovery performance - resulting in the engine spending less time on high speed, thereby also contributing to improved fuel economy.

Improved performance, better fuel economy and reduced maintenance requirements benfit not only the operator, but the environment as well. Less fuel used means less atmospheric emissions, and a reduction in maintenance requirements reduced the environmental impact of the disposal of used oil and dirty filters.
