Bibby go for 10 Kel-Berg double deckers

Bibby Distribution has ordered 10 D80 hydraulic double deck trailers from Kel-Berg Trailers & Trucks for use on its Nisa-Today’s contract.

Nisa-Today’s is a nationwide cooperative of some 3,500 shop outlets, with main depots at Scunthorpe, Avonmouth and Hoddesdon.

The D80 moving deck trailer can carry loads of varying sizes that can be accommodated by raising and lowering independently the two platforms whilst the roof can be raised by 400mm to allow increased access.

Simple fork lift loading from the rear with the decks level with the step allow rapid loading from a conventional dock. The decks are then raised to their travelling height and the trailer air suspension adjusted to level the lower trailer chassis with the dock for the final loading procedure.

The Kel-Berg trailers were chosen to increase the number of pallets that can be carried per trunking run.

Up to 44 pallets can be transported on the Kel-Berg D80 step frame trailer. In straight frame format up to 52 pallets can be carried.
