Thermo King launches FLEETWATCH

Thermo King one of the world’s leading manufacturers of transport refrigeration units, has developed Fleetwatch, a new fleet management system that will provide invaluable reporting information to operators of temperature-controlled fleets. An upgrade to Thermo King’s highly successful Wintrac software, FleetWatch provides enhanced fleet management capabilities.

FleetWatch has been designed to work seamlessly with R:COM, Thermo King’s remote data downloading technology. R:COM automatically downloads all the operating and temperature data from the controllers and on-board data recorders installed with the Thermo King refrigeration units, as soon as the vehicle enters the yard. Without any human involvement, the data is transferred to an office based PC via the R:COM base station.

Previously, data stored in refrigeration units required manual downloading, using cables and laptops, and then time had to be spent categorising and analysing the data into a useful report format. Now, with FleetWatch working in conjunction with R:COM Thermo King can provide a fully automated, customised reporting function, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

FleetWatch analyses the data automatically, and produced concise, customised reports - which are automatically sent to the users desktop at specified intervals. By saving time and labour, the system will help to reduce the cost of operation of temperature - controlled equipment.

The user can determine the content of the reports, to ensure the information provided is exactly what is needed for the effective management of the fleet. Standard reports can be chosen from the menu, or the user can choose to edit them, or create his own, specifically configurated to meet his needs.
Troubleshooting is made easier with reports on, for example, alarm codes, temperatures out of range or overdue maintenance. Maintenance scheduling can be assisted with reports showing when equipment inspections are due, either by date or reefer hours run, and the FleetWatch reports will provide excellent diagnostic information when maintenance or repairs are required.

In addition to the refrigeration unit data, FleetWatch can also be programmed to collect other trailer data, such as brake, chassis or tail-lift service information. R:COM itself is also a useful logistical tool, providing information on the location of vehicles and vehicle utilisation within the operators local area network.
The combination of R:COM with FleetWatch provides the busy transport or fleet manager with essential information in an easy to understand format, effortlessly and automatically - no more laptops and serial cables. The result is enhanced fleet management, reduced downtime and improved operational efficiencies, from the comfort of the fleet manager’s office.
