Enhanced OE quality for Beral brake pads

Roadlink International has increased its extensive portfolio of friction products designed specifically for commercial and passenger carrying vehicles with the latest disc pad range from BERAL, the innovative German manufacturer.

Equally suitable for fitting to inter-city buses and long distance coaches as well as trucks and trailers, BERAL disc pads are supplied as original equipment to many of the world’s major vehicle, axle and disc brake manufacturers.

Bringing original equipment quality to the aftermarket, Roadlink exclusively distributes BERAL products throughout the UK and Ireland from its central warehouse near the M5/M6 junction in the West Midlands.

Many of these pads feature meshed backplates, using a unique technology that ensures that the friction material stays in position against the metal backplate, even under the high brake temperature generated by rising average speeds of commercial vehicles today.

The backplates are manufactured in cast iron to reduce weight and improve noise characteristics, while low conductivity under layers protect the bond between the friction material and the backplate.

This helps to reduce brake fluid temperatures within the caliper and help to further dampen noise generated under braking.
A moulded ‘V’ groove is also incorporated in the friction surface to increase resistance to thermal mechanical stresses, which can cause the friction material to crack. Before the manufacturing process is completed, these pads undergo surface coating and scorching to ensure safe performance as soon as the brakes are first applied, and reduce bedding time for stable braking across all temperatures.

The latest range of BERAL replacement disc pads is manufactured on the same production line that supplied pads to vehicle manufacturers as original equipment.
