VW Transporter voted Semperit Irish Van of the Year 2004

The VW Transporter have been voted Semperit Irish Van of the Year 2004 by the Irish Motoring Writers Association. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony in the Berkeley Court Hotel, attended by leading figures from the motor industry.

The votes of the van jury of the Irish motoring writers were as follows:
1. VW Transporter 26 points
2. Ford Transit Connect 21 points
3. Toyota Landcruiser Commercials 13 points
Value-for-money, reliability, versatility and lasting residual value were among the attributes sought by the judging panel.

Presenting the awards to Bob O’Callaghan of Motor Distributors Limited, Brian Smith of Semperit Ireland commented: ‘The new VW Transporter is sure to make a big impact on the commercial market and the endorsement of ‘Semperit Irish Van of the Year’ will no doubt support this.”

The VW Transporter succeeds the Citroen Relay, Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer, last year’s joint winners.

At the same ceremony the Toyota Avensis was voted Semperit Irish Car of the Year 2004.
