PalletXpress joins forces with the Pall-Ex Network

Pall-Ex, the UK and Europe’s no 1 pallet distribution network, has appointed a new member to its freight distribution network.

PalletXpress, based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, is a network of hauliers providing a nationwide distribution service for palletised freight in Ireland.

The network is made up of a number of high-quality hauliers located throughout the country, who have come together to pool their resources.

Together they offer a reliable nationwide service to their customers, whilst concentrating solely on collections and deliveries within their own areas. Locally-collected freight is trunked on to the central hub in Mullingar each night for onward delivery by other members.

“The system guarantees a next day, nationwide service to customers providing them with later cut-off collection times and earlier deliveries. Whilst at the same time, it will allow members to substantially reduce operating costs and increase their efficiency,” said Tommy Carr, managing director of PalletXpress.

A sophisticated, customised IT system has been developed to centralise all operational, administrative and financial dealings between members and barcoding technology enables customers to track their consignments via the internet.
