Fitzgerald Commercials to capture the imagination

The 2005 Irish Truck & Motor Show, which takes place in Limerick over June Bank Holiday weekend, provides commercial vehicle dealers with an ideal opportunity to showcase their wares.

Robbie Fitzgerald is looking forward to the Irish Truck and Motor Show 2005

For the first time since its inception (in March ‘04), local company Fitzgerald Commercials has a chance to display its extensive range of Iveco, Hino and Isuzu vehicles. Director Robbie Fitzgerald is looking forward to the event and has his fingers crossed that the whole exercise will prove worthwhile for everyone concerned.

The return of the Irish Truck & Motor Show after a one-year lapse is a big boost for the trucking fraternity down south - and, indeed, throughout the isle. The two-day show, which takes place on June 5-6 this year, presents hauliers with a chance to view and assess the various products available to them, whilst also affording sellers an ideal medium to place their goods in the shop window. As a two-way conduit, it’s flawless.

One company set to make a major impression is local light and heavy commercial vehicle dealer Fitzgerald Commercials, the main Iveco, Hino and Isuzu outlet based in Annacotty, County Limerick. Indeed, despite only celebrating the first anniversary of its genesis in March of this year, the fledgling dealership has already made an impact that belies its relatively short existence to date.

In the run-up to the truck/motor show extravaganza in Patrickswell, County Limerick, Fitzgerald Commercials director Robbie Fitzgerald noted: “At this stage, we’re just looking forward to getting out there and meeting people. We haven’t done one before, so we’re not sure exactly what to expect, but we’ll have a good range of light and heavy commercials on display and see what kind of response we get.

We’ve received a very good response since we started trading in March of last year, so we’re looking forward to a continuation of that and hopefully the show will bring in a bit of extra business.”

It could well happen. A strong product has been central to the success story of Fitzgerald Commercials (between its three main models, they have something to suit everyone) and Robbie intends to exhibit some choice models from the Iveco van range and Isuzu jeep range. Space permitting, there will also be an Iveco or two on display.

A large crowd is expected to flock to the show over the course of the two days (June Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday) and the Fitzgerald Commercials presentation is certain to evoke plenty of interest amongst potential customers.

“Limerick is a very busy, developing area with a lot of haulage going on and we’re very happy with how well the business has been received so far,” says Robbie. “We’ve had a very satisfactory level of sales for the first twelve months and it would be fair to say that the first year’s trading has exceeded our expectations.”

How has Fitzgerald Commercials managed to gain a foothold in such a competitive sector of the market? Many others have tried and failed. “We’re selling a good product. Iveco, Isuzu and Hino are exceptional vehicles and the quality and performance they offer is second to none. People know they won’t be disappointed. We’ve also put a lot of hard work into developing the business, and the contacts we made through our workshop in Cork also helped.”

As well as sales, Fitzgerald Commercials at Annacotty Business Park also runs a superb workshop and boasts a magnificent parts/stores department. The Limerick outlet is particularly strong in its parts service, offering spares from all other makes (Volvo, Scania, DAF, Mercedes etc.) as well as its three main marques.

Simply put, Fitzgerald Commercials, Limerick has arrived. In the field of HGV sales, service and repairs, the County Limerick company is unsurpassed. The wealth of experience Robbie developed running a HGV sales, service and repair centre of the same name in Midleton, County Cork has been put to good use.

With a straightforward, honest, practical and distinctly friendly approach to business, Fitzgerald Commercials in Annacotty has already established a reputation as a trucker-friendly outlet.

The presence of the Harris Group’s flagship models is the feather in Fitzgerald Commercials’ cap. As a channel for Hino, Iveco and Isuzu, the Limerick dealership/service centre offers a high-quality all-encompassing line-up from light commercials through to heavy tractor units - something to meet every application. As there is practically no overlap between Iveco, Isuzu and Hino, Fitzgerald Commercials can sell with confidence into every sector of the haulage industry.

All three marques literally sell themselves.
Hino, of course, is one of the premier construction trucks in Ireland, with an outstanding reputation in quarrying and construction. Hino offers an impressive range of six- and eight-wheeler tippers, concrete mixers and block trucks, all with the added guarantee of low weight, reliability and fuel efficiency.

The ultra-flexible Iveco Euro Cargo range is performing very well, as is the Daily van range, which is competitively priced and offers a number of options to suit the individual buyer, from chassis/cab through to box van. Needless to say, the Stralis continues to excel in the marketplace.

With its NQR and NPR series as well as the Trooper and D-Max crew cab, Isuzu is also in a league of its own.

Throw in the unflinching back-up service provided by Fitzgerald Commercials and one has a winning combination.
The company base at Annacotty houses a state-of-the art 6,000 sq. ft. workshop with all the latest diagnostic equipment, hydraulic lifts etc. as well as an excellent team of mechanics, who were extensively trained by the Harris Group on the Naas Road, Dublin.
For the uninitiated, the 2005 Irish Truck & Motor Show should provide a taste of what Fitzgerald Commercials is all about.
