Service
Northern Ireland Rescue Service has recently taken delivery of its second
Crossland Water Tanker which has been introduced to manage new requirements
and regulations.

The
Northern Ireland Rescue Service chose a Crossland Water Tanker
|
|
The new Water Tanker is the second Crossland Tanker that the Northern
Ireland Fire Service has taken delivery of in just under a year.
Neil Coyle, Transport Officer for Northern Ireland Rescue Service comments:
We are extremely pleased with our new water tanker, we decided
to use Crossland again because of the high standard in workmanship and
excellent back-up and service.
Northern Ireland Fire Authoritys water carrier is built on a Volvo
FM9 chassis 6x2 rear steer, with 10,500 litre capacity.
The Crossland Water Tanker has the ability to collect water from open
water sources or any kind of hydrants. Once collected, the water can either
be fed direct into the main fire tender or can be deposited in a portable
dam allowing the carrier to go and refill. The water tanker can collect
up to 10,500 litres in around four minutes and offload in a similar time
scale.
The new tanker has been built to high specification to meet the increasing
demands of the Fire Service, with a light portable pump, Woodway control
panel for emergency lighting, a high pressure hose reel, and stand alone
floating pump.
