GE TIP chooses WHALE

GE TIP Tanker Services, the specialist tanker hire division of GE Equipment Services has taken delivery of the first batch of 20 new medium volume combinations GullyWhales and high volume JetVac’s units ordered from Whale Tankers.

The addition of these new vacuum tankers are part of GE TIP Tanker Services expansion of more diverse, specialised assets within the already established hire fleet of truck mounted and semi-trailer vacuum tankers and gully emptier/jetters.
With the secure financial backing of GE, TIP offers these specialist vehicles on innovative leasing and contract hire solutions with a choice in the level of back up services available to customers.

The MCV Gully Whales will be of 1,800 gallon (8.020 litre) capacity and will feature a stainless steel lining, fully hydraulic door and clamps with a five inch gully boom. The vacuum system is based on a Mistral 400 series exhauster/compressor with an output of 245 cubic feet per minute, whilst the jetting system can deliver 125 litres per minute at 125 bar. The main hose reel is self-aligning and hydraulically operated and incorporates a 100 metre high pressure hose, with a secondary 30 metre of high pressure hose.

The order additionally includes high volume JetVacs fitted with a high performance jetting pump and vacuum tank combination. The Whale JetVacs have a capacity of 2,600 gallons (11,585 litres). Each vehicle has been specified with a Pratissoli MS50 high pressure pump, capable of 50 gallons per minute at 2000psi and will also feature two hydraulically operated hose reels, with one being self-aligned.

All 20 trucks will be built on Volvo & Scania truck chassis and will operate out of four TIP locations of Avonmouth, Knottingley, Leicester and Liverpool.
