Richie served his time as a mechanic. He made a name for himself doing
repairs and servicing before deciding to take the plunge and open up his
own garage, specialising in the sale, service and repair of trucks and
light commercials.
Word of mouth has proven Richie’s most effective promotional tool
over the years and his reputation for excellence has become the stuff
of legend in the locality and beyond. Therefore, Foley’s Garage benefits

Richie was born in Watergrasshill and has lived there all his life. He
has operated out of the same premises since the inception of Foley’s
Garage in the 1970s. Jeanne O’Flynn, who has been with the company
for 15 years, notes: “He started out, literally, from a shed and
has gradually expanded the premises. He now operates out of a five-acre
site, which includes two large workshop areas with four pits.”

vehicles and also sell new Daewoos,” Jeanne adds.

Interestingly, the company’s glowing reputation is such that 40%
of trade is first-time business from customers who literally walk in off
the street to avail of the renowned Foley expertise. Repeat business and
