Boom times ahead for MOFFETT under new licence agreement

MOFFETT, the largest manufacturer of truck-mounted forklifts, is to build a new type of machine, equipped with a highly versatile and revolutionary telescopic boom, as part of a worldwide licensing agreement with its developers, Combilift, based in Clontibret, Ireland.

The machine, which will be marketed as the Telemount, will be manufactured at MOFFETT’s factory in Dundalk and sold through the company’s existing distribution network from autumn 2006.
The Telemount, which offers truck operators the ability to load and unload from one side only, will have a lifting capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes. Its telescopic boom is attached to conventional forks which allow it to efficiently and safely reach all parts of the trailer.

It is available in conventional and four-way mode and will work on smooth or rough terrain to make it one of the toughest and most practical machines of its kind.

It has been developed by the owners of Combilift, Robert Moffett and Martin McVicar, two of the early pioneers of truck-mounted forklifts. Under the licensing agreement Robert will continue to work on future research and development with MOFFETT.
The Telemount will strengthen the MOFFETT range by offering an alternative load handling solution for its customers worldwide, particularly for those operating in areas of restricted access where one side loading and offloading is the only or preferred option.
