Employing over 3,000 employees in 25 countries, the Swedish group specialises
in returning damaged property to its former state, saving money and lessening
the heartache for victims of floods and fire outbreaks. The short and
medium wheelbase Transit vans are used on an around-the-clock basis by
the Munters teams for getting to the scene of the outbreaks. Fitted out
with racks containing various cleaning solvents as well as heavy duty
drying equipment, the vans are also used for transporting damaged furniture
and artefacts to the central depot in Tallaght, where they are treated.
In certain environments, cleanliness is crucial to a successful salvage
operation. For this reason each vehicle is fitted with a basin, with hot
running water on tap.
In emergency scenarios, we just cant afford downtime, that
goes without saying, explains Munters Ireland MD Robert Taylor.
The quicker we can reach our destination, the greater the opportunity
to salvage materials. The reliability of the Transit, coupled with the
space it provides for all the equipment needed, gave it the nod over other
vans.
The company has also just taken on a Ford Galaxy for transporting teams
around the country.
