ChangingWorlds' Global Approach Wins DHL Exporter of the Year 2005 Award

Dublin-based ChangingWorlds has been chosen as the overall winner of theDHL Exporter of the Year 2005 Award. The company is a leading provider ofintelligent mobile communication portals and personalisation technologythat is deployed by 30 leading mobile network companies worldwide includingVodafone, O2, and Swisscom Mobile. Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Michéal Martin, TD, formally presented ChangingWorlds with a specially commissioned trophy, EUR5,000worth of international shipments and a EUR10,000 cheque towards itsoverseas marketing programme at a ceremony in Dublin today (February 8th2006). Presenting the 2005 DHL Export Awards, Minister Martin said,"ChangingWorlds and the other four Irish-owned companies receiving awardshere today are to be congratulated for their leadership within theirsector. I can see that in each case innovation and investment in R&D hasbeen critical to their success and has enabled them to exploit newopportunities and to move on to the next phase of their development." Founded in 1999 to commercialise research carried at University CollegeDublin, ChangingWorlds' ClixSmart advanced personalisation technologyimproves the usability of mobile portals by building up a profile for eachindividual subscriber and automatically adapting the mobile operator'sstandard service menu to suit the user's changing interests. For instance,a Manchester United fan who frequently downloads information about the clubthrough their mobile device would be presented with a personalised menuwith relevant information such as latest results, team news, interviewswith players etc.

ChangingWorlds' ClixSmart(tm) Intelligent Portal platforms increase mobiledata revenue for operators and are used by more than 30 leading mobilenetwork companies worldwide including Vodafone, O2, TeliaSonera, SwisscomMobile and Mobilkom groups. ChangingWorlds exports its technology to 30countries and generates over 90 percent of its annual revenue from exportsales. Headquartered in Leopardstown, Dublin, ChangingWorlds has recently openednew offices in San Francisco, USA, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to supportits business development activities in North America and Asia respectively.The company employs over 70 staff." Five companies: Alltracel Pharmaceuticals (Dublin), ChangingWorlds (Dublin), Connemara Seafoods Frozen (Mayo), Datacare Software Group (Monaghan), and Foamalite (Cavan) reached the 2005 Export Award final. Thiswas the twelfth year of the DHL Export Awards, which were established torecognise Irish companies who demonstrate excellence in their exportingefforts. The Awards also aim to develop public awareness of the vital rolethat small businesses play in the continuing economic development ofIreland.
