Investment in new premises gives added momentum to transmission service

Adtec Aerauto have been involved in the remanufacturing, repairing and supplying of transmissions, axles and steering assemblies for a number of years. The opening of a new purpose-built head office close to Navan, Co.Meath, is another example of the continuous development of the company as managing director Kieran Mulvany explained to Cian O Raghallaigh.

"Focusing on customer satisfaction and quality of service is paramount to building long-term customer relationships. Additionally, continuous development and proactively looking ahead to keep abreast of technological and market changes help ensure that customers' expectations are fulfilled," says Kieran.

The opening of Adtec Aerauto's purpose-built head office and workshop complex at Gibbstown near Navan, Co. Meath is another investment by the transmission, axle and steering specialist. Since its appointment as the sole ZF Drive Centre, Allison Dealer and Eaton Approved Repair for Ireland, the company has gone from strength to strength.

The new state-of-the-art facility will give the company a base from which to enhance the ZF, Eaton and Allison franchises and support its customers in the truck, bus and off-highway markets. It has the latest specialist tooling and test equipment enabling the company's factory-trained workforce to repair and remanufacture transmissions and other driveline components to the highest quality standard. The considerable investment in facilities represents another example of the expanding nature of Adtec Aerauto since its establishment.

The company has installed robust quality procedures and has been accredited to ISO 9001: 2000 ensuring the highest level of quality in the remanufacturing process.
Being franchisees of ZF, Allison and Eaton, Adtec Aerauto can handle transmission and axle repairs for almost all on-highway trucks and tractor units, buses, coaches and many off-highway vehicles. Adtec Aerauto already looks after a number of Ireland's leading OEM's, contractors, quarry owners and mobile crane hirers and is aware of the need for an efficient service.

A team of mobile service technicians are also available to carry out "on site" diagnostics, some repairs and removal and refit of units where necessary, thus allowing Adtec Aerauto to deliver its expert services at customer premises. Additionally, further developments are currently underway to expand this "in vehicle service" and to enable more vehicle work to be carried out at Adtec Aerauto's new premises.

Kieran Mulvaney is relishing the prospect of operating from the new head office and serving the needs of his customers. As managing director, he is thoroughly committed to ensuring that Adtec Aerauto maintains its reliability and strong market presence. The Timoney Technology group originally had ownership of Adtec Aerauto when the latter started in 1987. By the year 2000, however, Adtec Aerauto had become independent of Timoney and Kieran and his team were involved in the process of ensuring a new era dawned for the firm. Through a considerable amount of hard work, the company began to gain a good reputation and a strong market for itself.

Kieran is responsible for the overall running of the company. As managing director, he ensures that everything from cleaning to contract tendering is being done to the highest possible standard. Whilst all aspects of the role are intricately important, Kieran places a great emphasis on ensuring the quality of the product and service is at the forefront of every task undertaken by the Adtec Aerauto team.

The Adtec Aerauto team consists of twenty staff including workshop technicians, mobile service engineers, sales staff and administration staff. The company also has a fleet of seven vans on the road every day. The management team consists of Christy Carr who is responsible for service, Liam Lynch who is responsible for the workshop, Paul Mulvany who is responsible for parts and sales and Sinead Bennett who is responsible for administration.

Customers from all over Ireland are looked after at Aerauto, Gibbstown, Navan

Having moved in to the new premises in Gibbstown at the beginning of December, Adtec Aerauto has gone through a major transition and can look forward to an exciting period in the company's growth: new expansion can bring fresh rewards with the ultimate aim of new customers coming on board.
Clearly, the company wishes to look forward rather than remain contented with its lot. It would be easy to sit back and say that because of the move, the firm is happy with what it has. Instead they are planning for the future and these plans include the new vehicle bay.

Along with the changes in the industry, there is the reality that customers' expectations have also altered. There is a need to meet these expectations and look ahead to meet people's demands. The new head office is an example of the progression which the company has made and Kieran is well aware that if a business is to succeed, nothing less than complete commitment to customers will do.

"There has always been a good local market out there; now we want to offer our products and services to customers all over Ireland whether they are in Derry or in Cork," he says.
What then is the most appealing aspect of the job?
"The most satisfying part of the work is when the customer goes away satisfied that the work has been done to the highest standard and the service provided meets their expectations."
