Emo Oil opens new Fuelcard facility in Rathcoole
Irelands fastest growing oil company Emo Oil recently
opened its latest Superfuel 24 Fuelcard facility at Greenogue Business
Park in Rathcoole and with large transport vehicles now banned from Dublins
city centre, the opening of such a facility couldnt be more opportune.
Situated just off Dublins busy Naas Road (N7), Emo Oils latest
Superfuel 24 facility in Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole is ideally
located to meet all your refuelling needs.
The site is especially practical for large trucks that are now banned
from Dublin city centre during the day. Its location, ease of access and
24-hour service has already proven to be a massive hit with transport
companies from all over the country.
Truck drivers have also been impressed by the night-time floodlighting
and the security provided by the CCTV system. The facility accepts all
major Fuelcards including Texaco, Texoil, Statoil, TOP, DCI and Morgan.
The Greenogue site will be further enhanced by the opening of a restaurant,
deli and shop adjacent to it in the coming weeks. The site is extensive,
with plenty of room for trucks and coaches to get in and out quickly and
safely.
The Rathcoole project was managed by Emo Oil technical director, Ian Gillespie
and his team who designed and managed the greenfield construction process,
which was completed in a record time of two months. The site is based
on successful European models which are totally unmanned and based on
a drivers basic need drive in, refuel and drive off quickly.
The single entry, single exit points ensure that drivers dont have
to make awkward turns.
All transactions are automated and secure when using the chip and PIN
facilities on each Fuelcard. The diesel tanks are monitored remotely,
24/7, 365 days a year so that the site never runs out of product, which
may have been a concern for drivers. There are six fast-fill diesel pumps
and one gas oil pump on-site which makes the facility suitable for both
HGVs and LGVs. Emos site maintenance technician, Tom Keogh, ensures
that the site is operational and clean at all times.
We talked to the drivers who are on the road using our cards day
in, day out, and each site is developed with their needs in mind,
explains Emo Marketing Manager Susanne McCabe.
To encourage drivers to use the site, Emo ran a competition where
drivers could win a Plasma TV when they dropped their entry form into
the competition box on-site. We received great feedback from drivers and
were surprised by the number of entries received.
There is a message board on-site that the winner of the competition
will be announced on over the coming days. This message board is used
to give users of the site up-to-date information as it happens,
she adds.
Emo Superfuel 24 Rathcoole is the second such facility opened by the company
within the past four months. It follows the opening of Emo Superfuel 24
in Mountrath, Co. Laois which is also situated on the N7 Dublin-Limerick
route. Drivers are finding both extremely useful and the litres
through these sites grow daily, says Emo Oil Managing Director,
Gerry Wilson.
The opening of the Rathcoole and Mountrath sites brings to 70 the number
of Emo Fuelcard facilities in this country. In 1998, Emo Oil launched
its own Fuelcard and quickly became one of the strongest Irish-based Fuelcard
companies. The Emo SMART Fuelcard can now be used at over 400 locations
nationwide.
Growing and developing the choice of sites available to drivers
on the road has always been a priority within the company, Gerry
notes. Emo has developed and grown some of the most successful Fuelcard
sites in the country, including their Dublin Docks site and Emo Truckstop
in Dundalk. The company is always on the look-out for potential Fuelcard
sites and plans to develop further such sites in the near future.
Headquartered in the midlands and owned by DCC Plc, Emo Oil Ltd is one
of the most dynamic oil companies in the Irish market. The Emo brand is
also well recognised in Northern Ireland and the UK.
