Iveco wins pan-European Daily deal with FedEx Express
Iveco has become a partner of FedEx Express, the worlds largest express
transportation company, following the delivery of sixty new Iveco Daily
vans.
The vehicles are in the process of entering service in Italy, Germany,
Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, the UK and Ireland, with each Daily finished
in the companys distinctive corporate livery. Each vehicle is based on
the Daily 35S12 model and benefits from a partition and internal shelving
system, together with a wide sliding side door and twin rear doors offering
270 degree opening for maximum ease of loading.
After carefully evaluating all of the major competitors, FedEx selected
the Daily for its distribution fleet based on the vehicles strong all-round
performance. It had particularly high praise for the Dailys class-leading
cab ergonomics, combined with the array of possible load compartment configurations
available.
We are delighted to have become suppliers of one of the world leaders
in the mail and parcel sector, not least because FedEx selected our vehicles
after subjecting us to a strict evaluation process that all their potential
suppliers have to go through, says Iveco International Key Accounts and
Used Vehicles Manager Ottavio Gioglio.
Each of the new vehicles is powered by a 2.3 litre HPI engine delivering
up to 116hp and built using Ivecos expertise as a leading manufacturer
of diesel engines over 70hp. The characteristics of this engine ensures
Daily is both flexible in traffic and ideal for longer journeys.
FedEx Express provides a fast and reliable delivery service in more than
200 countries, using a global air-and-ground network to speed delivery
of time-sensitive shipments, offering guaranteed time and date deliveries
supported by a money-back guarantee.
