PRM Group offer full new range
The PRM Group has recently taken delivery of three new refrigerated Gray
& Adams box bodies based on 3.5 tonne Mercedes Sprinter chassis cabs.
The order for these small box bodies has meant that the PRM fleet has
now got a complete range of refrigerated vehicles from the Gray &
Adams product portfolio, including rigid vehicles of different sizes,
up to 26 tonnes and a number of Gray & Adams refrigerated trailers.

PRM, known as one of the largest independent chilled and frozen food
sales and distribution companies in Ireland, also have substantial operations
in haulage and logistics. They operate a fleet of around 50 refrigerated
vehicles, all of which have had the bodies supplied by Gray and Adams
and have been fitted to Mercedes chassis cabs supplied by Mercedes-Benz
Truck and Van (NI) Ltd. Over the past two decades, Gray & Adams and
PRM have built up a successful business relationship, which has contributed
to Philip Morrow, Managing Director and founder of PRM, coming back to
Gray & Adams for new bodies time and time again.
As Philip explains, We keep coming back to Gray & Adams because
they are highly reliable and are responsive to our needs. Because they
have in-depth knowledge of the PRM operation, they can always offer customized
solutions. Gray & Adams constantly provide a consistently high quality
product and offer a top class back-up service as well.
The new bodies will be used by PRM as part of their expanding van sales
operation in both the North and South of Ireland now in excess of 30 vehicles
operating out of seven satellite sites.
The PRM 3.5 tonne body specification is a near replica of the Gray &
Adams / Mercedes Benz Truck & Van demonstration vehicle that is currently
available for viewing. However, while the demonstrator runs a ThermoKing
fridge suitable for chilled and frozen operations, the PRM bodies include
Carrier Xarios 300 refrigeration units complete with electric standby,
which cater for chilled applications only. The PRM specification also
incorporates additional aluminum internal shelving.
Although Gray & Adams have always been capable of supplying bodies
suitable for 3.5 tonne operations, the new design launched earlier this
year offers a lightweight solution, which is priced to compete in this
now very competitive market sector.
These vehicles are capable of a payload in excess of 1000 kg on a 3.5
tonne chassis. They are available in single, dual or multi-temperature
configurations for frozen and/or chilled applications and come with rear
and side doors, pullout steps and 60 mm insulation as standard. A number
of bodies are available ex-stock for immediate delivery, depending on
chassis availability.
Although PRM have always chosen Mercedes as their preferred chassis supplier,
the Gray & Adams bodies can be mounted onto various different chassis.
In fact, Gray & Adams have recently supplied bodies on Mitsubishi,
Ford and VW chassis for other companies.
To arrange a viewing of the demonstration vehicle or for more information,
please contact Gray & Adams (Ireland) Ltd. or Mercedes Benz Truck
& Van (NI) Ltd.
