For almost five years now the company has went from strength to strength and its customer base has increased dramatically during the intervening years.

The company is a licensed lubricant distributor for Exxon Mobil Lubricants and sociality oils, the preferred manufacturer of lubricants by Irish customers.

Managing Director is Andrew Clarke and he spoke to Irish Trucker about the growth of the company and how he became involved in the lubricant business.
Andrew revealed that he had no prior experience in the industry before setting up his own company, but despite that, he has made hugely successful. So how did the Laois native succeed?
“I worked with Royal Liver Insurance as an assistant manager for a few years, but felt that I needed a change. I had no background with lubricants. However, with the help of Mobil Ireland, I learned the trade and although I’m continuing to learn, they company has really taken off in the last few years. Like all businesses, it took a while to get off the ground, but since that I’ve been delighted with the ways things have progressed.”

It is unique in that they have the only blend plant in Ireland, servicing the local country, resulting is superb service for its customers. Earlier this year, Andrew and his staff moved into new premises at Unit 8 Portarlington, where they can stock a lot more products thus ensuring that customers can be guaranteed to find what they are looking for at C.C Lubricants.
“Yeah, we moved a few months back and I’m happy with the facilities that we have. We stock a wide range of lubricants, while there are also a lot of accessories here.

“Not only do we supply the lubricants but we also have all the equipment like oil pumping machinery, AC pumps and kits, jugs and funnels, waste oil collectors, tanks, grease guns, barrel pumps etc in stock. We have a mobile unit going around to the customers, if necessary.
“Our customer base covers a wide range that includes garages, hauliers, plant hire, quarries and many other areas. We would be one of the major players in the midlands and supply many businesses with our products.”

Despite having moved premises in 2007, Andrew is not resting on his laurels as he is determined to extend the customer and the business in general.

“The aim is certainly to expand and keep growing. I want to look at employing more sales reps to get out on the road and promote the products. We have an excellent location here and can basically service a huge all the surrounding counties as well as Laois.
“If we continue to keep the customers happy and get their orders delivered on time without any fuss, then I see no reason why the company won’t continue to grow. It’s taken a lot of hard work to get this far, but I’m sure we can go even further.”

C.C Lubricants has built a massive reputation for itself in a relatively short period of time and the company has a large customer base that is delighted with the service provided and speaking to Andrew, one can sense that he is determined to bring the business a lot further down the road of success.
