Are you looking for a fast and reliable collection and delivery service?
If so, why not give Keyes Haulage in Tullamore a call.
Established in August 2002 by local man Martin Keyes, Keyes Haulage provides
a comprehensive range of transportation logistics services. Its location
in the centre of Ireland ensures delivery times are short and on schedule,
while through its partnership with PalletXpress, it can offer a next-day
nationwide collection and delivery service.
Keyes Haulage also provides regular services to and from the UK and Europe,
and boasts an ever-expanding customer-base.
We specialise in the delivery and collection of pallets and parcels
throughout Ireland and further afield, Martin explains.
We provide a fast delivery service on time, every time. Despite
the recession, our list of customers continues to grow and our aim is
to continue giving them the best possible service.
Based in Screggan, Tullamore, Keyes Haulage also has an office in Naas,
Co. Kildare where PalletXpresss new central hub is located. PalletXpress
used to have their headquarters in Mullingar, but theyve relocated
to Naas in the past six months or so, Martin says.

Weve been part of the PalletXpress network since 2005, covering
the Laois-Offaly area for them. When they were based in Mullingar, I was
put in touch with Alex Maher, who worked with them at the time, and we
havent looked back since. Theyre a great company to work for.
PalletXpress, which has Cavan football manager Tommy Carr as its managing
director, specialises in the movement of small consignments of palletised
freight. By creating a hub and spoke operation, local members
such as Keyes Haulage trunk locally-collected freight to the central hub
in Naas each night, where it is sorted into pre-defined areas and given
to other members for delivery in their locality.
Through this system, PalletXpress can guarantee a next-day, nationwide
delivery service to all customers, while members can substantially reduce
their operating costs and benefit from greater efficiencies. Furthermore,
as the hub operation takes place at night-time, customers can avail of
even higher levels of service (e.g. later cut-off collection times, earlier
deliveries etc).

PalletXpress was set up in 2004 in response to the growing number of
problems encountered by the transport industry on a daily basis, such
as spiralling fuel costs, unlicensed hauliers and traffic congestion.
The decision to base themselves in Mullingar and more recently in Naas
has taken traffic away from Dublin, which is the traditional focal point
for most freight traffic.
PalletXpress members run their trailers at off-peak hours, thus reducing
the number of trucks on the most congested routes in the country. Instead
of clashing with other traffic at peak periods, the PalletXpress scenario
requires that trucks will operate to and from the central hub in Naas
between 8pm and 4am. Smaller rigid truckers are used to carry out local
deliveries during the day, further reducing congestion at peak times.
The positive environmental impact is yet another benefit of this system.

in the country. They have undergone rigorous vetting by the company prior
to admission, and each member has specialist knowledge of the palletised
freight market.
PalletXpress believes that the level of service demanded from its members
will establish a benchmark by which other operators may be judged, and
bring the industry to a new level, one which is defined not by cost but
by quality of service.
Aged just 36, Martin had worked in sales before buying his first truck
a Daewoo rigid. This led to him setting up Keyes Haulage in 2002.
Martin now operates three trucks a Daewoo and Scania rigid, and
a Scania artic. He employs one-full time driver in Tom Burns while his
brothers and sisters as well as his father Joe, help out occasionally.
Joe is well-known in business circles throughout the midlands, as the
owner of Joe Keyes & Sons Building Contractors and previously owned
