| Supporting the Pipe As revealed by Irish Trucker, the Full to the Pipe truck show is the latest of these events to be arranged, which will be held on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
One of the main sponsors to the Full to the Pipe show is Oliver Haugh Haulage, and the man himself has been involved in the industry for many years now. The Full of the Pipe truck show will be held at Athlone IT on the June Bank Holiday weekend covering the 5th, 6th and 7th. This event will not be like your average truck as there shall be an even more focus on trucks than there does in other shows. The show will be unlike many of its contemporaries as its aims to attract the attention of a wider audience with many events being held over the weekend. Full of the Pipe is the brainchild of truck show enthusiast Colin Hegarty and with the help of experienced event organised Kevin Mulqueen, they intend to provide one of the best truck shows in the country. The timing of the show is also a big bonus as hauliers will not feel that they have to rush home, given that it is a bank holiday weekend. Unlike some other shows this will be three-day event with truckers signing in on the Saturday with the show taking place on Sunday and Monday. Without question, 2009 was a tough year for the haulage industry with many businesses struggling to survive during the economic downturn, but the aim of Full to the Pipe is to look ahead to 2010 with optimism and a renewed spirit. The banter that accompanies these events is an essential ingredient. So too is the praise and admiration that is heaped on the various winners. And where there are winners, there must be losers and the promise to come back next year with a winning entry. Oliver Haugh has agreed to be one of the main sponsors for the event and he knows more than most that all hauliers need some time out to relax and have some fun, which is a word not associated with the industry much these days. Since January, Oliver has been operating the Banner Vehicle Centre on the outskirts of Ennis. This is a new string to the Haugh bow and will see the company test HGVs and LGVs in a modern state of the art premises that will cover all aspects of testing including chassis plates, tachograph calibrations and all kinds of diagnostics. Oliver has placed a major investment in developing this part of the business, but he has still found time to help support the truck show in June. The Full to the Pipe show is set to one of the best ever, so why not make room that weekend to attend and enjoy the occasion, you know you deserve it!
