Company silent on allegations

Management personnel at Advance Pitstop - the tyre company at the centre of a Garda investigation into allegations of conspiracy and false pretences - are so far keeping mum on the matter.

Responding to allegations that the company brought a number of senior gardai on golfing trips abroad and to soccer matches at Old Trafford, a management spokesperson at the company claimed that any investigation by the Gardai concerning such allegations “did not relate to any staff here.”

It is believed that the cost to the company of the alleged trips - thought to have been undertaken between 1997 and 2000 - amounted to approximately £45,000.
