Thermo King keeps the Cream of Cornwall
cool
 |
Rodda, famous for its delicious Cornish clotted cream, has recently
taken delivery of a new temperature controlled Mercedes 18 tonne
vehicle fitted with Thermo Kings TS 500 refrigeration unit,
supplied by Marshall Thermo King.
Rodda, a family-owned business based near Redruth in Cornwall, has
been producing Cornish clotted cream since 1890. The creamery now
employs 80 people and produces several tonnes of clotted cream a
day, supplying to all the major supermarkets as well as most major
airlines and other food manufacturers.
The new Mercedes will join Roddas fleet of 15 delivery vehicles
- ranging in size from four and a half tonne trucks to tankers -
and will be used primarily on Roddas multi-drop operation
delivering pre-packaged Cornish clotted cream to Heathrow and other
UK airports, and supplying Cornish clotted cream for wholesalers
in the Southeast of England. The vehicle, with bodywork by Reeps
of Saltash, has 14-pallet carrying capacity.
