IBEC wants more public private partnerships

The employers body IBEC wants the government to fast-track infrastructure projects through greater use of public-private partnerships.

In a submission paper submitted to the Government and trade unions, IBEC states that greater use of public-private partnership is needed to complete the roads programme under the National Development Plan.

As part of a ten-point plan to tackle inflation, IBEC also wants as many Government services as possible outsourced to the private sector, to generate competition in sheltered sections of the economy.
