Cork Company wins penalty points contract

A Cork-based company has been awarded the contract to process data on speeding drivers for the new penalty points system.

The SWS Group has been awarded the contract to process hardcopy receipts from the Gardai and court services into electronic format for transmission to the National Driver File in Shannon.

The company has previously worked for the Department of Agriculture on its National Animal Registration Scheme and the Cattle Movement Monitoring Scheme. Based in Bandon, the company employs 240 people.
