Statoil launch safety campaign
Fuel giant Statoil have launched a promotions campaign to make people
aware of the dangers of roads during the winter period - the project is
backed by the National Safety Council.
A survey in Mayo alone showed that 11 people were killed on the countys
roads, while a further 385 were injured in accidents that could have been
avoided.
There are three Statoil Think Safety kits as part of the promotion,
which are available to Premium Club members and, for the first time, non-members.
The kits include a warning triangle, booster cables, tow rope and high
visibility vest for motorists; safety helmet, reflective armband and high
visibility vests for cyclists; Domestic fire blanket, smoke alarm and
fire extinguisher for home owners.
Details of the kits can be obtained at all Statoil service stations across
the country and the importance of the kits means that they should be in
a big demand.
