Tesco trucks fit the bill
Retail giant Tesco Ireland has rubbished reports that its trucks would
be affected by the imposition of a 4.65 metre height restriction on heavy
goods vehicles.
Director of Corporate Affairs at Tesco Ireland, Dermot Breen was reacting
to reports in the media that suggested Tescos fleet would be affected
by the possible new height restrictions and that its vehicles wouldn't
fit in the Dublin Port Tunnel.
Mr Breen said Tesco Ireland "will in no way be affected by the height
of Dublin Port Tunnel. There have been mischievous and untrue claims that
so-called double-decker or 'super trucks' operated by Tesco will be unable
to use the tunnel. The height of any Tesco trucks, currently or likely
to be in use in the future come well within the height restrictions of
Dublin Port Tunnel."
