Trucker has lucky escape

A lorry diver had a fortunate escape yesterday 14th November when his truck overturned on the N11 road north of Arklow.

The lorry - an eight-wheeler concrete mixer - toppled over as the driver swerved to avoid a goat. The truck skidded on its side for nearly 60 yards before coming to rest beside the garden wall of a private house.

The occupants of the house also had a lucky escape as they were standing at their gate getting letters from the local postman when the accident happened.
The driver of the truck suffered only minor cuts and bruises.
