One in five cars are running on dangerous tyres
Almost one in five cars in the UK are running on incorrectly inflated
or excessively worns tyres, according to a new survey.
In a survey of 1,000 cars some 13 per cent had a least one tyre, which
was incorrectly inflated, while another six per cent of tyres checked
were excessively worn.
The survey conducted by the RAC found 50 per cent per cent of spare wheels
were flat, while another 20 per cent were under inflated.
A spokesman for the RAc commented: Motorists who drive with faulty
rubber are putting not only their lives at risk, but also those of other
road users.
