Ferodo - the number one OE friction choice for Europe's
top selling cars
Every best selling car in leading car manufacturing countries and eighty
per cent of the Top Ten in Europe specify Ferodo friction as OE.
Federal-Mogul's Ferodo friction 'Power Brand' is celebrating the latest
set of car sales figures across Europe, as in 2003 it again increased
its OE market share and now features on up to 80 percent of Europe's most
popular vehicles in some European countries.
This superb achievements, which is the ultimate result of Ferodo's extensive,
ongoing research and development programme, reflects the excellence of
the Ferodo brand at Original Equipment level and adds further credibility
to Ferodo's aftermarket product offering.
Figures released by JATO Dynamics state that in the countries with the
largest circulating car park in Europe, including Germany, UK, Italy,
France and Spain, Ferodo braking is dominant, being the OE choice on up
to 8 of the county's top ten vehicles.
Even more striking, is the fact that the number one selling vehicle in
every one of these countries is equipped with Ferodo brake pads. In each
case the manufacturer has made Ferodo its OE choice, benefiting from Ferodo's
proven high quality and superb braking performance. For example, in Germany,
the number one vehicle boasting Ferodo's OE pedigree is the Volkswagen
Golf.
As part of its Original Equipment expertise, Federal-Mogul works alongside
the world's leading vehicle and system manufacturers from the earliest
design stages of new models and develops bespoke products to meet their
specific requirements, moving with the manufacturer through the evolution
process from initial concept to finished production model.
To allow this to happen, Federal-Mogul has developed a network of friction
research and development facilities, which are co-ordinated through Federal-Mogul's
facility in Bad Camberg. This ensures that Ferodo's research, development
and testing programme can be carried out in conjunction with the manufacturers
themselves throughout Europe and is able to meet their exacting quality
and performance demands.
Federal-Mogul has cultivated an OE pedigree that is second to none and
this is subsequently conveyed into the brand's aftermarket portfolio.
As a result, drivers and installers can have complete confidence that
choosing a Federal-Mogul part ensures it will be up to or exceed the task,
something which has become ever more pertinent in the light of the latest
block exemption regulations (BER).
With each of the major European countries boasting a massive vehicle
parc, this latest achievement underlines the extensive technological development
of the Ferodo brand - enhancing its position as one of the leading players
in the braking sector. Federal-Mogul Europe's Friction Product Director,
David Beattie, is delighted with the brand's achievements in both OE and
aftermarket. "The Ferodo brand, through its superior performance
and technical innovation, has become the clear choice for both Original
Equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket - something which we are very
proud to see further emphasised by these latest figures. As a forward
thinking company, Federal-Mogul continues to invest heavily in all of
its Power Brands to ensure that customers throughout the entire motor
industry can fully embrace the benefits of working with our products and
services."
