PalletXpress set to shake up sector
The palletised freight sector is set for a major shake up with the arrival
of new entrant PalletXpress, based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
PalletXpress is the brainchild of Kieran Conlon, the managing director
of the Dublin-based transport and logistics provider Transland Group.
The new company is chaired by one of Irelands leading entrepreneurs
Paschal Taggart.
Roscommon GAA boss Tommy Carr has been appointed managing director of
the new company.
The company says it will provide a superior express nationwide distribution
service for palletised freight.
Based on a hub and spoke concept, PalletXpress has members located throughout
the 32 counties. Each member will be responsible for collection and delivery
within their designated area. Freight will be trunked to the central hub
in Mullingar each night for onward delivery by other members.
