Truckers picket at Roadstone Castlebar

A group of 40 owner operators staged a demonstration at the entrance to a Roadstone quarry at Castlebar in Co Mayo on Thursday (April 14) in a dispute over rates.

The hauliers withdrew their services from the company following a breakdown of talks.

The truckers are seeking an increase of 28% to compensate for loss of earnings to due a company clampdown on overloading.
