HGV sales up 25 % on 2004

Despite spiralling fuel prices and worries over virtually stagnant rates, sales of HGVs for the first six months of the year, were up 25% on the corresponding period in 2004.

However, light commercials remain the star performer in 2005, with sales up 26 % for the first six months of the year, while July sales were ahead by almost 6%.

Dealers say the buoyancy in the market is welcome, if unexpected.
