Roadstone lodges planning submission

Roadstone (Dublin) Ltd has made a submission to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeking to build a landfill on its lands at Blessington, Co. Wicklow.

The company confirmed on Monday (August 8) that it had made the submission in response to the EPA’s draft ruling refusing Roadstone permission to construct the remedial landfill on its lands.

The company had proposed to build the remedial facility to deal with the estimated 110,000 tonnes of illegal waste dumped on the site.

The proposal was rejected on the grounds that dump would pose an unacceptable risk of pollution to a local aquifer.
