Farmers storm QK Meats and block delivery trucks

A group of angry farmers prevented trucks from entering and exiting the premises of QK Meats in Naas, Co. Kildare on Wednesday (August 10) in a row of the importation of cheap Brazilian beef.

The protest, which was organised by the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) , focused on the premises of QK Meats and the adjacent offices of affiliate company Dawn Farm Foods, both of which are owned by the Queally Group.

IFA president John Dillon, who headed the demonstration, said uncontrolled beef imports were displacing Irish beef and driving cattle prices down to unsustainable levels.
