Boot to the headlight 2005

If you fell in love with Limerick and were bowled over by Punchestown, then the National Show Centre, Cloughran, Swords, Co. Dublin is the place to be this weekend for Ireland’s latest outdoor truck show.

Incredibly, Boot to the Headlight 2005, has been organised in just eight short weeks by a small group of truck show enthusiasts from north County Dublin.
Press officer Sean Doyle says the idea for a show in Dublin sprang out of a conversation that took place at this year’s Punchestown event less than two months ago.

To their credit, the organisers have found a venue, organised insurance and booked entertainment for young and old in double quick time
The group have also organised a 52-category truck show, with more than 200 prizes on offer. More than 200 truckers have expressed an interest in entering their rigs in the show.

Further details can be obtained from Austin Bell on 085 7267197 or Tony Judge on 087 2877632.
Judging will take place on Saturday (August 13) evening and again on Sunday.
