Dublin City Council objects to Roadstone plans

Dublin City Council (DCC) has warned An Bord Pleanala that a proposed Roadstone sand and gravel pit in Blessington, Co. Wicklow poses a threat to half the public water supply in Co. Dublin.

DCC has made a written objection to the planning appeals board, after Wicklow County Council granted planning permission to Roadstone for a sand and gravel development on a 30-acre site near Blessington.

The city council also told An Bord Pleanala that no planning permission should have granted to Roadstone, until such time as the issue of four illegal dumps on Roadstone lands is resolved.
