CAT pounces on Eurenov
CATERPILLAR has bought French-based remanufacturer Eurenov, which the
company says will broaden its exposure to the European automotive and
industrial engine and transmission remanufacturing market.
Eurenov operates primarily from Chaumont, France, and has another facility
in Radom, Poland, serving leading European automotive manufacturers. It
sells products including remanufactured engines, new and remanufactured
transmissions, and remanufactured fuel pumps to original equipment manufacturers
(OEMs). Eurenov has about 155 employees.
Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services general manager Steve Fisher said
the purchase was a strategic fit. "Eurenov's experienced team of
employees and managers will be a great addition to the Cat Reman organisation.
We expect their efforts will complement the remanufacturing work we are
currently performing in Europe. Their customer relationships and technical
knowledge, combined with Caterpillar's know-how and expertise, will strengthen
our position in this growing market."
The acquisition will occur through a two-phase process, with Caterpillar
obtaining full ownership in 2007, subject to the completion of legal and
regulatory requirements.
Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services offers integrated solutions for remanufacturing
development and operations, core management and distribution.
One of the world's largest remanufacturers, it operates facilities in
the US, Britain and Mexico to serve its parent company and other OEMs.
Cat Reman recovers materials through differentiated technology and employs
environmentally sustainable practices to restore components to like-new
condition.
