LCVs make a buoyant start
LCV sales in 2004 suffered a 1.9 per cent decline, according to figures
just released, but that trend should be reversed if January registrations
hold up for the year.
Figures released by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show
that January sales increased by almost 30 per cent to 7,061 units, compared
to 5.477 units for the same period in 2004.
Once again Ford leads the field on 19.3 per cent, with Volkswagen some
way behind on 14.1 per cent. Toyota completes the top three on 10.2 percent.
Nissan claimed 10 per cent of January sales, while Citroen saw its market
share slip from 9.5 per cent in January 2005 to 7.1 per cent this year.
