National Lottery uses courier firm for ticket distribution
An Post has admitted that the National Lottery is using the services of
a private courier firm to deliver lottery tickets to post offices.
A spokesman for An Post has confirmed that the National Lottery has recruited
the services of Nightline, following a dispute with the Communications
Workers Union in January over the closure of SDS.
SDS had delivered lottery tickets to post offices since the inception
of the National Lottery in 1987.
We had a situation where we couldnt guarantee service and
the Lottery people needed something, which could guarantee them service,
the spokesman added.
