No decision on maximum height limit - yet

Numerous stakeholders made submissions to the Department of Transport, with regard to a possible maximum vehicle height limit, www.irishtrucker.com has learned.

The Department of Transport circulated a discussion document at the end of December, which called on stakeholders to make written submissions on the need for a maximum height limit.

The closing date for receipt of submissions was January 31 and the Department of Transport is now preparing definitive proposals for Junior Minister Ivor Callely.

“I expect to receive from my Department definitive proposals on the matter for consideration and it is my intention to take a decision on those proposals as early as possible,” Callely commented.
