E200,000 cigarette robbery

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to an armed robbery of E200,000 worth of cigarettes in north Dublin on Wednesday (May 11).

A van containing the cigarettes was held up at gun point at traffic lights on the N2, north of Finglas at 7.15am.
The robber got into the passenger seat of the van and told the driver to take the van to St. Margaret’s, where he was forced out of the van.

The driver and his helper were tied up and had their heads covered with plastic bags.
A number of men then transferred the cigarettes into a waiting truck.
The gunman was described as stocky and about five foot six inches tall.
