Gama’s quarry plans are put on hold

Controversial construction company Gama has run into difficulties with its plan to advance the E191 million Ennis bypass.

Clare County Council has expressed reservations over the company’s plans to extract almost 500,000 cubic metres of rock from a nearby quarry in order to construct the bypass.

The council has put the proposal on hold following a series of objections from local residents.

The quarry proposal for the Kilbreckan / Killow three miles from Ennis is one of three separate planning applications for quarries by the company.
